CE Classes
CE classes are held Monday throughThursday
Classes are in 4 hour segments ($50 for each 4 hour segment).
Times of Clases
- Morning class: 8:45 a.m. to 1 p. m.
- Afternoon class: 1:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Evening class: 5:45 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Three classes is 12 hours.

The advanced program is designed to enhance the therapist techniques
and provide additional requirements for National Certification as
well as membership to AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association).
We are an approved continuing education provider for NCBTMB (National Certification of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork).
Hands-On Approach is an AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association)
council of schools member.
Texas Renewal Requirements
Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) requires 6 hours of continuing education per year to renew your license; 12 hours per 2 year renewal. All Hands-On Approach CE classes are approved by TDSHS.

Prerequisite: 300 hour massage program
About AMTA
The AMTA is the only member driven association for massage therapists
which qualifies it's members for many benefits including, malpractice
insurance. Graduates of Hands-On are granted membership
without any other requirements.
About National Certification
National Certification is the highest level of Certification a
Massage Therapist can achieve. Hands-On provides the coursework
required to sit for the Test as well as Continued Education Credits.
Advanced Course Subjects
Massage Tech (66 hours)
Student will focus on the mechanical delivery and developing a massage that clients will return for with emphasis on Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, ROM, and specific problems such as TMJ and Low back pain to list a few.
Health and Hygiene (9 hours)
Personal health and hygiene is stressed and the course ends with CPR and First Aid certification.
Business Practices and Professional Ethics (35 hours)
Students study the laws and regulations governing massage and learn the importance of being licensed by the state. Students then learn about the different legal business structures and how to start a small business, standard accounting practices, office procedures, marketing, and taxation. This course stresses proper ethical and professional boundaries as they relate to a massage practice. This course concludes with the creation of a business plan that simulates the creation of a small personal business.
Kinesiology (50 hours)
This course builds on the foundation of Anatomy and Physiology with an in-depth study of muscle systems, individual muscle origins, actions, and insertions, proper palpation techniques to identify muscles, and their trigger points. Each day’s lesson ends with a demonstration of deep tissue techniques used to treat each muscle group.
Pathology (40 hours)
An in-depth study of the nature, terms, conditions, symptoms, and treatments, of disease and infection. Students learn to identify conditions and disorders, indications and contraindications as they relate to massage including psychological and emotional states. The course also covers basic pharmacology as it can be used in treatments. Lessons focus on a specific body system as each condition, disorder, and disease is studied in detail.
